Metal brazing
Brazing is a metal-joining process that uses an alloy filler which is heated to a temperature below its melting point.
A fundamental parameter in the process is wetting, which is ensured by using gaseous atmospheres as hydrogen-based reducing agents with a controlled water content.
SOL supplies nitrogen and hydrogen, storage plants, distribution and mixing, application engineering and specialistic support depending on the materials to be brazed and the processes used.
The support offered ranges from the definition of the characteristics of the best reducing gas mixture needed for the customer’s specific process (composition, pressure, flow and type of gas), control of the atmosphere (hydrogen analysis, dew point, residual oxygen), and a chemical and metallurgical analysis service. It supplies all the information needed for efficient and effective brazing operations, optimising costs and complying with the corresponding regulations.
